Who we are

folier is an online platform that helps artists publish their work and reach an audience. This policy explains what information we collect when you use folier.art (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

We collect the information you give us directly and a limited amount of technical information about how you use the Service.

  • Account information. When you register we store your name, email address, and (for credentials accounts) a hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email, and profile image from those providers.
  • Artist profile and content. If you register as an artist we store the bio, links, images, and other content you choose to publish on your profile and site.
  • Billing. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payments processor (Stripe) handles your card details directly — we never see or store card numbers. We retain billing metadata (amount, plan, date) for recordkeeping and tax purposes.
  • Technical data. Like most web services we receive standard request information (IP address, user agent, referring URL) and high-level analytics on page loads and performance via Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.

How we use it

  • To operate the Service — sign you in, display your content, process subscriptions, and send transactional messages (receipts, password resets, account notices).
  • To keep the Service safe — detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and respond to legal requests.
  • To improve the Service — understand which features are used and where users encounter friction.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising on the Service.

Third parties we use

We share information with a small set of service providers that act on our behalf:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Vercel — hosting, file storage for uploaded images (Vercel Blob), and traffic/performance analytics.
  • MongoDB Atlas — database hosting for your account and content.
  • Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with those providers.

Each provider is bound by its own privacy terms and may store data outside your country.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service — principally a session cookie set by NextAuth so you stay signed in, and small preference cookies (e.g. dark mode, frame style). We do not use advertising cookies and do not allow third-party trackers beyond the performance/analytics providers listed above.

Your choices

  • Access and update. You can review and edit your profile and content from your dashboard at any time.
  • Deletion. You can request deletion of your account and content by emailing us at the address below. We may retain limited records (e.g. billing history) where required by law.
  • Marketing email. We only send transactional email; there is nothing to unsubscribe from.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a material way we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Service. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
